Michigan Workers' Comp Leads for Attorneys

Michigan workers' comp leads are inquiries from people hurt on the job in Michigan who want to talk to a workers' comp attorney. Augment Leads screens each lead against your firm's filters, set around Michigan's notice and claim filing rules, and sends it to one firm only, with unqualified leads replaced.

Michigan workers' comp claims follow their own agency, forms and clocks. This page covers each, sourced, plus intake questions for Michigan callers. To compare states, see workers' comp deadlines by state.

The Michigan workers' comp system

Michigan's system is run by the Workers' Disability Compensation Agency (WDCA) in the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, under the Workers' Disability Compensation Act. Disputed claims go to the agency's Board of Magistrates, and the agency accepts claim forms and applications for mediation or hearing through its File Transfer Service portal.

Deadlines a Michigan worker has to meet

Notice to the employer

Under MCL 418.381, the employee must give notice of the injury to the employer within 90 days after the injury, or within 90 days after they knew or should have known of it. The section says failure to give notice is excused unless the employer can show it was prejudiced.

Making the claim

The same section requires a claim within 2 years after the injury. The claim can be made to the employer, orally or in writing, or as a written claim to the agency, electronically or on the director's forms.

Not legal advice. Check current rules with the Michigan Workers' Disability Compensation Agency before relying on them.
